Introduction
This Informed Consent explains the benefits, risks, and limits of your chosen genetic or epigenetic test (“Geno Wellness Panel”) provided by Medical Innovation Sdn. Bhd. (MEDIVEN) and our affiliates. It also explains how your information and sample will be used. “You” refers to the person taking the test, or your child if you are a parent/guardian ordering for a minor. By continuing, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Informed Consent. You understand that the test is voluntary and you may choose not to proceed.
Purpose of Testing
These tests analyse your genetic and/or epigenetic information to provide personalised health, wellness, ancestry, and lifestyle insights. The results are intended for wellness information and health purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis or treatment.
Voluntary Participation
Participation is entirely voluntary. You may choose not to proceed or withdraw consent at any time by notifying MEDIVEN, though withdrawal will not affect results already processed.
Sample Collection & Analysis
Your sample (saliva or blood) will be collected, processed and analysed in accredited laboratories.
Privacy & Data Protection
Your personal and genetic data will be handled in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and Geno™’s privacy policy. Results will be shared only with you, unless you provide explicit written consent for sharing with insurers, healthcare providers, or other third parties.
Insurance Use
If you choose to share your results with an insurer, they may use them only for wellness personalisation, preventive health recommendations, and rewards programs, not for exclusionary underwriting or premium increases unless agreed to in advance.
Limitations
Results may indicate predispositions or traits but do not guarantee the development or absence of any condition. Environmental, lifestyle, and other factors can influence outcomes.
